Welcome to the School Counselors website. Counseling services are available for every student. These services include assistance with educational planning, career information, study skills, family, school and/or social concerns, or any concern the student would like to discuss with the counselor. In addition to the counselors, the Counseling Center has a number of other resources that will be of help. There is information on occupations and careers, on colleges and on technical training programs. The Counseling Center also posts dates of important examinations such as SAT's and ACT's and important meetings on this website. Information on college visit and scholarship programs is also available. Please see some important information on the links provided on the left of the page.

FAFSA Updates
FSA released an FAFSA update announcement on November 15, 2023 providing updates to the financial aid community.- FSA has not released an exact date but confirmed the FAFSA will be released by December 31, 2023
- FAFSA filers will not receive their FAFSA submission summary or make updates and corrections until the end of January
- Students can use the link at the end of the FAFSA to submit a TAP application. For the 2024-25 application, students will not be able to transfer data over from the FAFSA to the TAP. They’ll need to fill out the TAP in full.

College Visits: For juniors and seniors, there is a detailed listing of scheduled college visits posted outside the guidance department for your information. This list includes specific dates and times and can also be found in Naviance.
FAFSA: Seniors and parents may start their FAFSA application by visiting the Financial Aid web page for access to resources available to guide them through the FAFSA process.
SAT/ACT Prep Online: Get free SAT/ACT prep through your Castle Learning Account. Visit the SAT-ACT Information page for more info.
Scholarship Announcements

Please join the Scholarship Group in ParentSquare for updates on Scholarships. Students may also visit the Scholarship link in Naviance for any new scholarship information.
NYS Excelsior Scholarship: The Excelsior Scholarship provides tuition awards to eligible students attending New York State's public colleges and universities (SUNY and CUNY). This scholarship, in combination with other student financial aid programs, allows students to attend a SUNY college tuition-free. Excelsior Scholarship Program information
NYS Scholarships for Academic Excellence Selection Criteria: The nominees for the NYS Scholarship for Academic Excellence are chosen based on a students' weighted grade point average at the end of their junior year. Each school is given a set number of students who can be nominated based on the graduating class size.
STEM Incentive Program: Seniors ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class, who attend a SUNY or CUNY college in a program leading to a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics, may be eligible for the New York State STEM Incentive Program, which provides a full tuition scholarship and includes a service requirement.
